"One of the bonuses of The Addison that it faces north toward the high rises. The property between us and these buildings comprises historic row houses on Pine Street and the fabulous Delancey homes. Quite doubtful these will ever be replaced with buildings that would block our view.

The location is great for walking to University City or Washington Square. We even walk to Reading Terminal for shopping and Trader Joe's is right up the street, a ten minute walk. I street park the car so no garage fees, and hardly use it. Considering its Center City location, we were surprised at how quiet the building is. It's so pleasant to walk down Addison street at night and when it's snowing because the neighborhood group has gotten together lighting up the trees for this two block stretch. I saw a magazine that noted this street as one of East Coast cities prettiest."

The Addison is located two blocks from Rittenhouse Square to the north, and a block from the emerging and bustling South Street residential and commercial neighborhood to the south; it's a low-rise 1930's era building with very attractive architectural features both inside and out with tons of character, something else we looked for in a new home. And, because the property has only four stories and twenty-four units, it has a cozy feel without the being "too close", like some of the small boutique buildings we considered buying into. And better yet, we have an elevator for bringing in packages and groceries, and hauling out our bikes on the weekends when we ride along the Schuylkill River path - only a few blocks from our door.

Our unit comprises 700 square feet, has 10-foot ceilings, and offers incredible views via huge windows in the living room overlooking the pretty Addison Street historic blocks nearby, and Center City high-rises beyond. In all our condo-hunting adventures, we didn't encounter better views in a lower rise building, and this made a big difference in terms of our decision to purchase our unit at The Addison. And, after having lived in our building for several years, we've identified a couple of additional advantages: the property is efficiently managed helping keep the maintenance fees very low, and it's located close to Rittenhouse Park in an area that is quickly becoming one of the most attractive in the city. Everything we want is just outside our door: restaurants, coffee houses, parks, running and bicycling paths, really all that the city has to offer. All in all, we are very pleased with our new home and we believe we found one of the city's and Rittenhouse's secret gems!"
