The Wanamaker House Condos at 2020 Walnut St. - My Two Cents

Located just off the (Rittenhouse) Square are the Wanamaker House condominiums. Very similar to the Dorchester condos in terms of demand, unit configuration, and appeal. Though I could be wrong, I think the Wanamaker House condos have more larger two bedroom units and a little less concentration of studios and one bedrooms...seems that way to me anyway.
I think the views are great, and the rooftop pool and gym are really fabulous. Indoor parking available is deeded- meaning very few rental spots that I see opening up. I have to be honest... I don't sell a lot of units in the building (as opposed to other similar building in the area) and no real good reason for that except maybe that inventory in the building is somewhat scarce- I don't see the turnover here that I see in perhaps other condo buildings around town. I think the investment potential over the long haul at 2020 Walnut St. is huge...buy 'em if you can find 'em!

What most buyers don't know is...

  • The original home of John Wanamaker sits adjacent to the high-rise building.
  • Parking spots are individual owned by condominium owners and rarely do they come up for sale (unless attached to a condo that is for sale).
  • There is no gas service to the building- All electric.

Known as one of the faster selling condo buildings in Philadelphia, the Wanamaker House Condominiums are generally in short supply. Most Penthouse units have outside space/balconies and all units have terrific light via mostly floor to ceiling windows. the Wanamaker House also incorporates some townhouse-styled condos which enter on the ground level.
